One of the ways West Towson Neighborhood Association stays connected to the wider community is through the Towson Communities Alliance (https://www.towsoncommunities.org/). Representatives from approximately thirty neighborhood associations meet monthly. As vice-president, I attend as often as I can on behalf of our neighborhood.
TCA’s main focus is sharing information, building connections, and coordinating our efforts. At every meeting elected officials (e.g. county council, state delegate) brief us on important matters they face. Updates are also provided from our local police precinct, the Chamber of Commerce, and library. Additionally TCA has working groups devoted to relations with local government, universities, and police/community issues. Together this framework provides channels for neighborhood concerns to be raised and heard.
My biggest takeaway from my time with TCA is how many people work hard to make Towson an excellent community to live and work.
From time to time I’ll be sharing highlights from these meetings. Please share any questions or issues you’d like me to bring to TCA.
