Towson Event: 4 on the 4th 4 mile Run
In addition to the great events hosted by the West Towson Neighborhood Association, we will periodically highlight new or unique local events that we hope you will enjoy. The 1st event we’d like to profile is the Towson 4 on the 4th 4 mile run organized by neighborhood resident and former WTNA Treasurer Dan Farrell.
Towson is gearing up for a thrilling event that combines fitness, community, and patriotism as a compliment to the longstanding Towson July 4th parade. By bringing the community together, the Towson 4 on the 4th race is more than just a running event. It is a celebration of community spirit, fostering a sense of camaraderie and unity among participants. Runners of all ages and abilities will participate. This event truly embodies the spirit of the 4th of July, bringing people together on a course that runs through the heart of Towson, through Towson University, and back to the courthouse.
Beyond the sheer enjoyment of the event, the Towson 4 on the 4th race serves as a platform for promoting fitness and well-being within the community. Dan Farrell, an avid runner and race director, understands the transformative power of running and its ability to positively impact lives. By organizing this race, he encourages individuals to embrace an active lifestyle, inspiring them to set goals and challenge themselves physically. The race acts as a catalyst for personal growth and empowerment, promoting the overall health and vitality of the community.
The race will start at 8:15 am on July 4th in front of the cannon at 400 Washington Avenue. The fee for runners is $35 in advance and $40 on Race Day. There is also a discounted 1776 Family Fun Run will begin after the 4-mile start has concluded and all runners are on the course – approximately 8:30 a.m. Sign up here.
